In the village is a riding school and fishing at a trout farm. There are numerous walks with wonderful views of the Solway Firth.

The Park is just 5 miles from Cockermouth and 3.5 miles from the Solway Coast at Allonby.

It is in an ideal position for touring the Northern and Western Lake District, within easy travelling from Keswick (30 mins), Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwentwater, Loweswater, Buttermere, Ennerdale etc: beautiful scenery and great walking.
